Nudgit privacy policy

This policy explains what the app stores, how optional receipts and location data are handled, how widget privacy works, and how iCloud sync works for your own devices.

Overview

Nudgit stores expense records that you create, including category assignments, timestamps, optional notes, optional receipt attachments, and optional location information captured at the time of entry.

Data we collect

  • Expense amounts and currency codes.
  • Category selections.
  • Timestamps for created, updated, and occurred-at dates.
  • Optional notes that you enter.
  • Optional receipt images and photos that you attach (you can add several per expense).
  • Transactions you import from CSV, OFX, or QFX files, which are parsed on your device.
  • Optional location information such as coordinates, place name, locality, administrative area, and country.
  • Budget targets, recurring expense review settings, reminder preferences, and widget privacy preferences that you configure.
  • iCloud sync status metadata needed to keep your own devices in sync.

How data is used

  • To store and display your expenses inside the app.
  • To group expenses by category, date range, budget, recurring pattern, and optional location.
  • To show widgets, forecasts, budget progress, reminders, and Apple Watch quick-log context.
  • To sync your data across your own Apple devices through iCloud and CloudKit.
  • To troubleshoot sync issues locally on device.

Data sharing

Nudgit does not sell your data. Expense records are stored locally on your device and, when iCloud sync is enabled and available, in your private CloudKit database associated with your Apple ID.

Location data

Location capture is best effort and optional. You can deny permission or disable location capture in the app settings and still use Nudgit normally.

Receipts, widgets, and reminders

Receipt attachments are optional and only stored when you add them. Widgets and reminders use the expense and preference data already stored by the app. Widget privacy redaction can hide sensitive values from widget surfaces.

Data retention

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. If iCloud sync is enabled, synced records remain in your private iCloud storage until deleted from the app and synced again.
